« HOWTO: Configure Apache Tomcat/Axis for ... | Main | SOA Presentation follow-up »

I am scheduled to do a presentation about "SOA, Interoperability and Web Services" to the Capital Area Microsoft Integration and Connected Systems User Group (MICSUG) on Thursday, 10/26/06.

I was originally going to focus on just the current status of the various WS-* specifications. But given my interests, I've decided to broaden the scope a tad bit beyond simple web services integration by placing web services and the associated standards and specifications within the broader context of SOA. So my intention is to start out with SOA design principles, move onto what you need to be aware of in a web service implementation of a SOA (WS-* standards and specifications come into play here) and finish up with pitfalls you have to watch out for and some guidance around emerging best practices.
