The Shared Web Hosting Deployment guide provides information and guidance for service providers and resellers to deploy Windows Server™ 2003 and SQL Server™ 2000 in a shared Web hosting environment. The guide does not assume extensive prior administration experience with Microsoft Windows® and SQL Server. It provides practical, procedure-based guidance on configuration, deployment, and troubleshooting. In addition to written guidance, the Shared Web Hosting Deployment guide includes a set a sample provisioning scripts intended to be used as a starting point for your own scripts. [1]

In addition, make sure you check out Chapter 20 [Hosting Multiple Web Applications] of the fabulous "Improving Web Application Security" Guide from the PAG.  That chapter "... shows you how to secure ASP.NET applications in hosting scenarios, where multiple applications are hosted by the same Web server. Hosting scenarios for Windows 2000 and Windows Server 2003 are covered. The chapter explains a number of techniques to provide application isolation. This includes the use of multiple identities, IIS6 application pools on Windows Server 2003 and using .NET code access security to constrain applications and enforce isolation." [2]
